Wow! (In2019)

Identifying student misconceptions of programming, a paper I co-authored, was nominated for and then voted #1 in the top 10 SIGCSE papers of the first 49 symposia. See the official press release.

Good things come in bunches I guess. I was named the Volunteer of the Year by CSTA at the annual conference in Phoenix. The announcement can be seen at csteachers.org/page/volunteer-of-the-year-award

Activity

Professional development for K12 teachers
Though "retired", I continue working with colleagues Ben Schafer and Sarah Diesburg on UNI's teaching endorsement program (https://csed.uni.edu) . That work was initially funded by an NSF CS4All grant.
Equitable Grading (current focus)
Colleagues Andy Berns & Ben Schafer and I have become enamored with Grading for Equity. Much of our work is available here.
