Carl and Wanda Wehner Computer Science Scholarship

This $750 cash scholarship is given through the generosity of Carl Wehner, a long-time computer science instructor at UNI and one of the founders of the program, and his wife Wanda, a long-time instructor of chemistry.

Requirements:

  1. a full-time a junior or senior with a major in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems who shows outstanding promise
  2. an overall and departmental G.P.A. of 3.00 or above
  3. must have completed at least one 810:1xx-level course that counts toward the major
  4. preference to students who demonstrate financial need

Application deadline: April 15

Announcement: The recipient of this scholarship will be announced before the end of the spring semester. No award will be made if there are no suitable applicants.

To apply for this scholarship, complete an application form and submit it to the Department of Computer Science.

Jesse Purdy Memorial Scholarship

This $1000 cash scholarship is given in memory of Jesse Purdy, a Computer Science student at UNI from 1996 to 1997.

Requirements:

  1. a full-time sophomore, junior, or senior with a major in Computer Science
  2. an overall and departmental G.P.A. of 3.00 or above
  3. preference to students interested in networking

This scholarship is renewable for 3 years or until graduation provided student maintains a 3.00 GPA.

Brian Palmer Memorial Scholarship

This $250 cash scholarship is given in memory of Brian Palmer, a Computer Science student at UNI from 1990 to 1994.

Requirements:

  1. a full-time junior or senior with a major in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems
  2. a satisfactory (not necessarily exemplary) academic record
  3. strong citizenship characteristics such as good character, neat appearance, honesty, and respected citizen of the community and country
  4. preference to Iowa students

Application deadline: April 15

Announcement: The recipient of this scholarship will be announced before the end of the spring semester. No award will be made if there are no suitable applicants.

To apply for this scholarship, complete an application form and submit it to the Department of Computer Science.

Computer Science Graduate Scholarship

This $500 cash scholarship is given through the generosity of an anonymous donor.

Requirements:

  1. registered for at least 6 hours of graduate credit per semester
  2. satisfactory performance in computer science graduate program
  3. preference to students who are residents of Iowa

Financial need is not considered in the selection process.
