Full-Datapath Secure Data Deletion
Sarah Diesburg, an alumna of the UNI CS department, will deliver a CS seminar on Monday, May 4, at 3:00 PM in 322 ITTC.
Abstract
The ability to delete sensitive data securely from electronic storage is becoming increasingly important. However, current solutions are limiting in terms of their applicability to emerging storage media, their correctness in the presence of system failures, or their ease of use. This presentation introduces the concept of full-datapath secure data deletion, which will enforce secure deletion throughout the operating system data path, starting from the user applications and ending with the storage media.
Sarah Diesburg is a member of the Operating Systems and Storage Research Group, in the Department of Computer Science at Florida State University.

FACULTY PROFILE
With distributed computing, the devil is in the details. That's because a programmer is dealing with all sorts of different hardware and networks. Meshing all of these elements presents a significant challenge that Paul Gray, associate professor of computer science, is leading the charge to solve... [more]
