- What is required to get started programming this robot?
- Instructions for moving (specified distances) and stopping
- Instructions for turning (specified amount)
- Can you make a new instruction? How?
- What "large"/complex tasks can you do?

Final Exam Preview
I have drafted a final. It has an in-class component similar to what you might have seen on the sample final exam. It also has a take home part (handed out in class).
- Take-home part
The idea is that you will complete this part by final exam time and attach it to the back of the in-class part. Your response to each question is to fit in the space provided. You may write, print, type your response. You may also use a word processor to produce an answer, print it out, and tape it onto the handout in the space below the question. If you print or write, take care that your information can be readily accurately interpreted.
- In-class part
- content
- stuff about basics of programming
- couple of Scratch coding items
- couple of robot coding items (probably drawn from or similar to the suggestions made for tasks to have your robot complete)
- a NetLogo coding item
- a reflective understanding item about the basics of programming
- time limit is 1 hour 50 minutes
- writing needs to be legible
- closed-note/-computer
- need not worry about exact matches from written code to code blocks or NetLogo instructions
Sharing of Student Work
You can share your thoughts, questions, plans, programs, projects, etc. We'll use the following algorithm:
repeat until no-more-items-to-share or class-time-at-end
. request item to share
. student shares something
. class discusses what is shared
.......
