CS 1150 Programming Environments for Elementary Education—Spring 2018

Day 29: Sharing, Final preparation, ?

Logistics

Sharing

Our first activity today is to examine and discuss shared extra-credit work. The shared material web page contains links to material people have shared. Thus, far, only one group has submitted anything. We'll look at that.

Final Exam Preparation

I prepared a final exam discussion page. Any questions concerning the final exam?

Work time

You may spend the rest of the time reviewing programming (e.g., with robots, NetLogo, etc.) or working on extra credit work. If you wish you may leave without penalty.

Next Time

Questions? Comments? Wonderings?   See you Thursday.

Day 30: Sharing, Final preparation, ?

Logistics

Instructor Evaluation

Someone will assist/supervise you in doing instructor evaluations.

Final Exam

Our final exam will be at 1:00 pm, Wednesday May 2. As you know the final has some benchmarking questions that I hope to use to compare the learning of program in our class with that of other courses that typically use only one programming language. Since I might publish a paper about that research, it is necessary that I get informed consent from you in order to use that data in any such paper.

You will take the exam and I will grade it regardless of whether you consent. The consent will allow me to use your exam results in my analysis. No one will be identified when I publish and I will mostly use only aggregate data, i.e., number correct, number providing a particular answer, etc.

Sharing

Next we will examine and discuss any additional shared extra-credit work. The shared material web page contains links to material people have shared. Thus, far, only one group has submitted anything. We'll look at that.
