Can this be done through the > CD-ROM, or does it have to be done in the Wright Hall labs?? You would have to come to Wright or somewhere that has PhotoShop to do that. It is not available on the CD-ROM and not all of the UNI labs would have a license for providing PhotoShop to students. We will spend another 15 minutes or so on PhotoShop next Monday, so you should be quite comfortable with how to do some of the basics with it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > I have done the CPU Simulator #1 Steps, Troubleshooting #1 Steps, and > Deframentation #1 Steps. > > Do I need to do the Explore for CPU and Defragmentation, but not > troubleshooting?? > Are these due on Monday, Feb. 4th, or the 11th? Troubleshooting you ONLY do the STEPS, for now. The other CD-ROM labs require you to do several of the Explores. ** Due date: February 11th. Defragmentation Lab on pages 202-3 - Do the Steps #1, and - do the Explores #2, #3, #4 and #5. CPU Simulator Lab on page 248 - Do the Steps #1, and - do the Explores #2 and #3. Troubleshooting Lab on page 249 - Do the Steps #1 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- > And, our two web pages are due on March 4th. This must be done in the > lab on pico editor?? Or, can it be done on netscape navigator notepad?? The web pages can be done with notepad or whatever you like. You can actually do cowboy.cns.uni.edu from anywhere you have a modem or an internet service provider connection, and do NOT have to work in the Wright lab to work on that. And you can work offline, as demonstrated with the File menu, Open command working from a diskette to see how the page is doing so far, and then later bring it to Wright or ftp it up to cowboy.cns.uni.edu. There are MANY nice options for doing your web page, and by the end of our next class session, you should feel very aware of those options. I will update the web page before next Monday and then go over the approaches as part of our class session. You will soon have a cool web site up and running, definitely before spring break. I have a great web page that show all your options, but must update it to talk about cowboy.cns.uni.edu instead of the old chaos computer we used to use. Mark
