Watch the Talented Ball video with Captions via the FLVPlaybackCaptioning componenent.

Go to 3Dbuz MAYA site - see more student's sample videos

FLVPlayer component
The instance name is shown here right below the word Component. Instead of looking at the Property Inspector, we are looking at the Parameter's tab of the Property Inspector panel.
cuePoints
Do not worry about cuePoints for the final exam. You did not have to do cuePoints for the Flash video project, and it was not covered in our textbook.
autoPlay
You have enough experience to understand the autoPlay parameter. It was your decision whether you wanted the user to start the video when your page loaded, or whether you wanted the video to start playing automatically.
preview
It would be enough to understand that the preview parameter in the FLVPlayer component allows you to preview the video and write down the times where you want to start and end certain CAPTIONS for the XML file that the FLVPlayerCaptioning component will utilize.
skin
Know that this must be uploaded to the server, if you have a skin. The book is great in explaining the difference between SKIN UNDER and SKIN OVER too. The JPEG file below here shows that the skin used was SkinUnderAll.swf and it was uploaded to the server sunny.uni.edu along with the other files.

skinAutoHide
Look at the different student examples. Some of them use skinAutoHide false and some of them have skinAutoHide as true. My examples vary so some hide the skin until your mouse is over the video and some do not.
source
talentedBall.flv was the source Flash video in the above example. Know this parameter, as it is the most important one of all the parameters!
