Hi 023 students, The quiz on Thursday will be AFTER we go over the solution to the group exercise from the end of today's class. The quiz will be about a 20 minute quiz at the most, so if we take it at 2:20 or 2:25 p.m. that will give us a 20 or 25 minute review BEFORE the quiz and half an hour of class for new material AFTER the quiz ends at 2:45 p.m. The quiz will assume you have read carefully about the TIC (Tiny Imaginary Computer) and are able to trace a TIC program and show the contents of the ACC and the PC registers, and the output of the TIC program. You do NOT have to memorize the TIC instruction set, but will be given that with the quiz. The lecture notes for the two lectures since the last quiz are fair game, including CPU, Mp, Ms, In, and Out and the bus that hooks them all together, as well as the Fetch/Execute Cycle handout from today, that elaborated in more detail on the preliminary lecture notes on the fetch/execute cycle (called the machine cycle on the handout we went over today). ------------- Mark
