Hi 080 students, We will meet in the WRT 112 lab for a hands-on class on Thursday morning at 8:20 a.m. and on Friday afternoon at noon. The Thursday morning 8 a.m. class will BEGIN in WRT 105 classroom, and then move to the WRT 112 lab about 8:20 a.m. The Friday noon class will meet in WRT 112 lab from the beginning. Look over the web page and handouts material for the bc calculator program and the recursive functions and examples. You have this as a handout too, I believe. We will do a mixture of Excel spreadsheets, bc calculator on chaos, a couple of C++ programs, one or two Visual Basic program demonstrations of Big Theta and recursion and sorting, and perhaps some Lisp functions and some composition of functions using the Unix pipe operator and input and output redirection. We will also look at the tracert Windows NT networking command, for graph theory. We might look at some database example too, from within Excel or within Access. If you forgot your chaos.cns.uni.edu password, telnet to chaos and login as newuser, password newuser. ------- ------- You will be told your user id (you already know this, if you are in 051 or 052) and your password (you might not know this, cause when you changed your Windows NT password it did NOT change your chaos Unix password).
