Hello Computational Modeling and Simulation 9 MWF students, This Friday, November 4th we are having quiz #2. 1. Show the output of the NetLogo program question(s), like the first quiz. 2. Oil percolation Earth Science model and handout that we did Monday and today in class. Monday you paired up and did different densities from 0.40 up to 0.75 depending on which group you were in. www.cs.uni.edu/~jacobson/025/spr11/OilPercolateAndFractals.pdf -------------------------------------------------------------- You received this as a handout on Monday. Recall that pages 1 and 2 of the PDF are the FRACTALS part. That is an ASSIGNMENT and is due on Friday in class. -------------------------------------------------------------- The pages 3 and 4 is NOT DUE to be turned in, but you will do something similar but shorter as one of the quiz questions! -------------------------------------------------------------- It will be just like we did in class in the small groups of 8 or 9 pairs of students doing 0.40, 0.45, 0.50, 0.55, ... up to 0.75 as their density using the given TABLE OF RANDOM DIGITS. I will give you the TABLE OF RANDOM DIGITS to use in showing the first line or two of output of PERCOLATED OIL. -------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Life model from Computer Science models Cellular Automata, just like the first quiz. More later today or tomorrow mornin, when I get time to post a study guide web page and send you the link to it. The main addition will be showing how to do the TABLE OF RANDOM DIGITS and model the OIL PERCOLATING correctly using the given rules (see the PDF). Mark
