CS 1025 01 - Week #6 (Feb 18, 20, 22)

Monday, February 18th

  1. The 15 countries with (x, y) pairs being (birthrate, female life expectancy). The x or birthrate variable would be considered the INDEPENDENT VARIABLE (IV) and the y variable or female life expectancy would be considered the DEPENDENT VARIABLE. Data Flyer tool and predicting the best linear equation y = mx + b to discover the relationship between two variables.

  2. The SHODOR Data Flyer tool: Plotting data and finding the best fitting function. Ordered pairs.

  3. Finding the SLOPE of a line given two points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2). The rise and the run and the slope m.

  4. Ventana VENSIM and System Dynamics approach to modeling and simulation.

  5. Maya and Flash and ease in and ease out (easing) versus linear tangents.

  6. Adobe Flash and gravity.
