Web site... Hi 088 Visual Effects, Animation, and Motion Graphics students, ------------------------------------------------------------------------- A few examples (found last April on YouTube) of what can be done with Adobe After Effects: http://www.cs.uni.edu/~jacobson/classes/j/examples.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The textbook for our class had about 25 copies available last week when I checked. All the copies were USED copies, so the price was very reasonable. $33.75 used price at the bookstore. $44.95 new price. www.amazon.com price is: List Price: $44.95 Price: $29.67 Shipping cost is $3.99 for 3-5 business days shipping. ------- $33.66 is cost from AMAZON.COM Shipping cost is FREE Super Saver Shipping for 5-9 business days. With the shipping cost from www.amazon.com it would be about the same price as the bookstore price. Free shipping is available, but takes about two weeks (5 to 9 business days) get the book that way. The web site for our class is: http://www.cs.uni.edu/~jacobson/AE http://www.cs.uni.edu/~jacobson/AE/syllabus088AEspr2010.pdf The three examples we will look at over the next few weeks: Dances with Wolves: http://www.cs.uni.edu/~jacobson/AE/01/DWW01052010.html Ghostbusters: http://www.cs.uni.edu/~jacobson/AE/01/GBjan4th09.html Oranges: http://www.cs.uni.edu/~jacobson/AE/01/Oranges.html http://www.cs.uni.edu/~jacobson/AE/01/Orange.html We probably won't do any Flash until February. The early part of the class will focus on Adobe After Effects. The class will be about 70% Adobe After Effects and 30% Flash, but they will complement each other very nicely. Once you understand KFs (Keyframes) and Timelines in one application, you will understand and be effective with them 5 or 10 times faster in the other application. Examples of what can be done with Adobe After Effects: http://www.cs.uni.edu/~jacobson/classes/j/examples.html I will have a web page ready for the http://www.cs.uni.edu/~jacobson/AE web site sometime Tuesday afternoon or before. From today: APSRO Anchor Point Know your TRANFORM Position properties that every Scale AE layer has. Rotation Opacity A P S R O What is the CTI? Current Time Indicator What is footage? What are the main 3 panels you see when you open up an After Effects project? Mark <------- Remember to SIGN YOUR FIRST NAME at the end of every email note! :-)
