****** FALL 2011 - FALL 2011 Adobe After Effects ***** Hi 2880 students, ----------------------------------------------------------- OPEN LAB HOURS FOR LANG 213 - NOT YET DECIDED or POSTED... ----------------------------------------------------------- KAB 250 is the Kamerick Art Building lab. That lab is never closed for a class, or almost never. They have 26 Macintosh computers. That lab has the Adobe After Effects and has the most hours of any lab on campus, even more open lab hours than the Rod Library SCC lab does. (SCC = Student Computer Center). The SCC labs have Adobe Flash CS4 and Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Photoshop, but they do NOT have Adobe After Effects. --- ------------------- How to find KAB 250 computer lab. Directions are needed for that! 1. Head toward the McLeod Center and UNI-Dome bridge across Hudson Street from the Union or Library. 2. When you get inside the KAB Kamerick Art Building lobby that goes out to the walking bridge, turn to your right and go through the doors into the north portion of KAB. 3. Go only a few steps and on your right you will find a wierd stairwell. 4. Take that stairwell up on flight of stairs to the next floor. 5. When you exit the stairwell to the 2nd floor, turn toward your left. 6. Follow the hallway there and take the sharp 90 degree right turn. The long hallway there you are walking parallel to Hudson Road, heading north. 7. At the very end of that hallway on your right will be the KAB 250 Macintosh Lab. They have the best hours of any lab on campus, so that is a good place to work if you do not have Adobe After Effects on your laptop or desktop at home. I will try to walk over there or search more on UNI's web pages to find out what the KAB 250 hours are, but I remember they have great hours and a lab monitor is always on duty if you are new to Apple Macintosh computer use. Our textbook covers in every lesson the keystrokes for both Mac and for PC. After Effects is 99.9% identical on both Macintosh and PC Windows platforms. Lang 212, across the hall from our classroom, has open hours too, but is also a Macintosh lab. They have AE, but the hours for 213 Lang, our classroom, are better and always open when 212 is open anyway. http://www.uni.edu/chfa/chfatech/labs/lng212spr10.html are provided here just in case you decide you like working on the Mac AE best and don't want to walk clear over to the KAB 250 Mac lab to do AE.
