  1. Student Assignments: See the link to your assignment HERE and check out your classmates projects too.

  2. From Saturday, February 6th: Here is the sample assignment: http://www.uni.edu/jacobson/ae/soup/SoupOrSundae.html. It should include your name at some point and can include extra effects or additional animated and stylized text. Fog, rain, snow - you are welcome to practice those if you wish. You will of course find and use your own favorite SNORG TEEs T-Shirt choices, or you are welcome to use other JPGs or your own photographs or artistic creations for footage.
  3. At some point, your AE project should include some animated text indicating who authored the project:

Example: by Frodo Baggins i.e. by your name

You are welcome to add ANY extra features to your SNORG TEES AE project two, if you wish.
This is NOT at all required! :-)

       1. Write-on by itself.

       2. Write-on with Beam effect.

       3. Snow or rain or fog at some point.

       4. Smoke like we did coming out of the chimney of the house.

       5. After Effects Expressions such as done during week 5 (wiggle)
                                                       or week 6 (layer markers).

       6. Stylized text with drop shadows and bevel or something you bring over
                                                   from Photoshop or Illustrator.

       7. Twirling layers, changing size and/or rotation and/or opacity at some point.
See the Dances With Wolves example and the posters there.

       8. All the above ideas are OPTIONAL. Get the basics done first.

Your assignment does NOT require you to do anything extra, so that is only
if you want to get extra practice or creatively try more ideas.

       9. Many of the OPTIONAL ideas above will be REQUIRED on future assignments.

  4. This is your 2nd assignment: Watch this video first, and watch it again as needed. You will choose at least 5 SNORG TEEs T-Shirts. There are hundreds of choices, so no two students should have the same files up on sunny.uni.edu. It will be fun to see what each student comes up with.
  5. The video contains and demonstrates EVERYTHING you need to know and do for the assignment, including how to RENDER out the final COMP as FLV Flash video. It does NOT include how to upload to your sunny.uni.edu account. The video assumes you are studying the After Effects Apprentice textbook and taking notes from the book as well as the video.

The video is the same one you watched on Saturday, February 6th or soon thereafter. Thus the assignment does NOT require anything done after week #4 of our class, which was the week before soup or sundae (the soup or bowl).

  6. The SNORG TEEs web site: http://www.snorgtees.com/ - you RMB (Right Mouse Button) click and then choose SAVE IMAGE AS when you find an image you like. Then later import it and the other chosen images as footage to an AE project.
  7. Uploading your FLV to sunny.uni.edu video for after your project is all done and already RENDERED to FLV. How to create the Flash application and then upload the SWF and the HTML and the FLV files to your sunny.uni.edu account and your web site on www.uni.edu.
    1. Publishing Flash and uploading to sunny.uni.edu using Dreamweaver and ssh secure shell. Flash applications and Dreamweaver. Defining your site using Dreaamweaver. Publishing Flash to the web.
    2. CyberDuck link (for Macintosh users) and further information on Dreamweaver and SSH Secure Shell. Note that both CyberDuck and SSH Secure Shell are free and available at the www.uni.edu web site.
    3. UNI's web site for Cyberduck, for SSH Secure Shell, for FileZilla: http://www.uni.edu/its/us/software/ - Note: you are welcome to use FileZilla too. It has apparently improved in the last few years and is easier to use that it used to be. It is the software available in all the SCC labs around campus. Hopefully, ssh secure shell will be made available after the next update to the SCC software.

  8. Video tutorial demo: Uploading your assignments using DREAMWEAVER Site definition and Site menu commands. U P L O A D - PUT using DW
