Hi 088 students, http://www.uni.edu/jacobson/startOfNunchukaStriker.html is the link to what we covered in class today. We will finish that quickly on Wednesday. There will be a quiz on WEDNESDAY, which will be the same quiz I had ready for the Friday before break when we did special effects like snow, rain and bubbles and learned how to make an INVISIBLE BUTTON to invoke those special effects. Your assignment that is next due will be using After Effects and Flash to do what we did before spring break. 1. Find a photograph or JPG or GIF on the web or in your own collection or make some design or take some photo that you like. 2. Create some effects for it, such as snow, rain, bubbles, etc. Export those as FLV. They can be 5 seconds or so in length, just like the examples we did in class and like the tutorial. 3. Create a Flash application that shows the photo or JPG or GIF or design you created. 4. Add the AE exported FLV to your Flash application - i.e. import video the way we did in class and the way that the video tutorial shows you. http://www.layersmagazine.com/falling-snow-in-flash-cs3.html 5. Create an invisible button symbol that allows the user of your Flash application to turn on or turn off the special effects. For examples and tutorial, see: http://www.cs.uni.edu/~jacobson/AE/09/v/campanileTutorial.html http://www.cs.uni.edu/~jacobson/AE/09/campanile.html http://www.cs.uni.edu/~jacobson/AE/09/v/AEtoFLVtoFL.html 6. Send the URL to me at jacobson@cs.uni.edu when your are done. Email should always be sent to jacobson@cs.uni.edu CS cs cs.uni.edu The assignment will be due on Wednesday, March 31st anytime --------------------- that day. Mark
