Its a "source" of a common error when publishing your FLV application for the web

1. You want to set the SOURCE parameter AFTER you have saved your .fla authoring document.
2. Where should you save your .fla FLASH file? In the same folder that you have placed your FLash Video FLV (the .FLV file in the above example is VEAMG.flv).
3. When should you save your .fla file? BEFORE you have set the source. Otherwise the source have the extra C:\0000Maya2009\IndependenceDay\images\ path or something like that for your PC or Macintosh. The application will work fine ONLY ON YOUR OWN COMPUTER. It will NEVER WORK when you upload it to a web server, such as sunny.uni.edu or any web server.
4. All that is required to fix the above problem is to save the .fla application in the same folder as the VEAMG.flv flash video and then click the magnifying glass again and browse to the VEAMG.flv video. After you do that the extra drive and path information will magically disappear and the web server will just expect that VEAMG.flv is in the same folder, the same location, as the .swf file and the .html file you published!
5. About 40 to 50 percent of the previous students have gotten stuck with this problem in the past, so it appears to have been a tough slimer (Ghostbusters) to contain or bug to debug. This was AFTER explaining and demonstrating the problem in class and in the computer hands-on classes. That is why this web page, with its graphics and screen captures was produced.
6. VEAMG.flv is a strange name for a Flash video. VE, A, and MG is the acronym for Visual Effects, Animation, and Motion Graphics. The VEAMG.flv Flash video was created by using Adobe After Effects, Autodesk Maya and Adobe Flash. Those are the 3 main software packages used in that 810:088 12 class.
