  7. Here is the version of Talented Ball captioning done during lab class on 12/09/2008. It was uploaded to sunny.uni.edu during the class. The cd, ls, ls -l, pwd commands are shown, to help you understand sunny.uni.edu commands. cd .., mkdir talent, cd talent, ls -l, ls, and pwd. The more times you see these commands, the sooner you will be comfortable with them.

  8. Creating a Dropdown Menu with Fireworks CS3 is a nice tutorial that Joe developed while taking the class this semester.

  9. Scarecrow mathematics and the Wizard of Oz as an occasion for learning new ways to control the FLVPlayer component with ActionScript 3.0, aka AS3 for short.

  10. Making separate Flash video control components and how to implement a preview image saved from the FLVPlayer component. You also have the Unix and sunny.uni.edu ls, ls -l, ls -a, SSH Secure Shell, cd .., cd nov19th and pwd commands on that same handout where the two files were UPLOADED using SSH Secure Shell.

Please review those BEFORE Friday's class. Notice the URL when you are looking at this maskTVfinalFour.html file. What folder is it apparently stored in on jacobson's account on the UNI web server?

Has a word or two or two-hundred or two-thousand about writing as a way to learn too.

Speaking of words: Flash assignment due date is quite flexible, Thankfully, so be thankful and relax should you need an extension.

  18. Work out your answers to the in-class group exercise that we had on Monday, November 17th. You should use your notes, handouts and Flash software to try to discover answers and verify answers and problems.

  19. The new web page for 810:023 Microcomputer Systems class - 1 MWF Spring 2009 class. It will be a completely different class from what it was the last few spring semesters. Projects based, Adobe web and graphics and animation based class.

  22. Flash assignment #1: Chapter 7 based assignment has you getting some more images, but this time its not disjoint rollovers.

Note: When looking at the above example with Internet Explorer, you may have to CLICK once to activate the Flash movie and then CLICK a 2nd time on the button before it responds and executes the code to take you to this page: Flash Window and Panel snapshots and assignment details.

Note about the assignment and these pages. Flash buttons and games work fine with Mozilla Firefox. Microsoft is apparently still struggline with how to make web browser's work with Flash, at least for some versions. One has to wonder!

  23. The Dancer Chapter 7 example skip intro button works, and it goes to the www.uni.edu web site either at the end of the animation or when you skip the intro. It does this in the same browser window.

See the Actionscript code for the dancer intro application.

  24. Five fun files for Friday Flash class in StudioIT II lab.

  25. Adobe Flash: Chapter 7 - Lowery book example - November 5th, 2008 class example. USE INTERNET EXPLORER for Best Results - Firefox does NOT show the Flash animated graphics fade in and fade out smoothly.

Both LongsPeak.htm and Bluish.htm demonstrate pop-up menus and text following a curved path. The rest of the huge collection of files are created automatically by the Firefox Export command.

Commands menu > Creative submenu >
                                  Add Picture Frame... command.

Edit menu > Copy HTML code... command
so we could move the Code and Images over to DW (Dreamweaver).

Live Filters were illustrated too, invoking FW editor on an image
from within Dreamweaver. We had to Fit Canvas to enlarge
the fireworks CANVAS so the GLOW filter effect could be
seen around the Frame and the polar bear photograph.
