Hi Maya students,

     The Monday and Wednesday classes will both be in the regular classroom,
ITT 322 on 4th floor.

     I will hand back quiz one on Monday in class.

     Your sun, earth, moon assignment (with Mercury, Venus and Mars added)
is due on Monday evening by 10 p.m. so you can still have questions answered
about it on Monday morning during class.

     I have received 3 Sun, Earth, Moon assignments so far.  It is easiest
if you email me the scene file as an email attachment.  I will demonstrate
that on Monday in class, in case it is needed.

     Lang 213 had some problems because they have Windows Vista instead of
Windows XP, so the Maya software is NOT ready in that lab yet.  That is why
we meet in ITT 322 on Monday this next week again.

      The syllabus has a quiz scheduled for Wednesday.  I will decide over
the weekend if we have quiz two on February 11th or not.  I might move it
to February 18th.

     repeat today's lab and sit at the computer and watch and pause
     this video:

        and as you pause it, switch over to Maya and do the modeling
           where you step by step convert the Polygonal Cylinder into
           a wine glass by manipulating its vertexes and its faces with
           the Move and the Scale tools.

   I will post the web page sometime later this evening that clarifies
   where the tutorial using an older version of Maya will have differences
   from how you do things in Maya 2009 in the SCC computer labs.

              as you review the modeling concepts

                good understanding of how to use those tools ... "

   The Maya PLE edition version 7.0 that the Australian instructor
   demonstrates and teaches from has some differences from the latest
   version of Maya.  As you can see as you watch the video, Alias was the
   name of the company for Maya 7.0 - i.e. Alias Maya 7.0 PLE.
