Date: Mon, 22 Sep 2008 10:35:03 -0500 (CDT) From: Mark Jacobson To: 810-088-11-fall@uni.edu Subject: Quiz #3 Wednesday... In person grading of Maya TRAIN project... Hi 088 Maya students, Quiz #3 will be on Wednesday. http://www.cs.uni.edu/~jacobson/maya/info.html http://www.cs.uni.edu/~jacobson/maya/train/ If we do a group exercise again upstairs, I might just have each group of students take one laptop per group to do the exercise. It is too unreliable making sure all 3 students get a working laptop and get logged in over the network. Assignment number one will be graded using in person grading. I will be available most of the day on Thursday and on Friday for in person grading of your Boiler assignment. Thursday: Should be available all day except for 11-12:15 p.m. I will be in Wright 338A part of the day, and in ITT 307 the rest of the day on Thursday. Friday: I teach at 2 p.m. but will be available most of the time after our 9 a.m. class in StudioIT 1 and also after the 2 p.m. class in StudioIT 3. Saturday I will be available for appointments in case you did or after: not finish in time for Friday in person grading. If you send me an attachment whenever you get done, I can look at it in person with you on Monday too. Do NOT send me an attachment if you are coming in and see me on Thursday or Friday and get it graded. Assignment one will be in person grading where you bring just your scene on a Flash drive, or you can bring your laptop. Assignment one grading will be by appointment, so send an email or sign the sheet in class for an appointment time. You can stop by without an appointment, but: 1. I might be helping or grading other students, or 2. I might not be there when you stop. So I prefer by appointment. I will pass around a sheet on Wednesday in class and on Friday in class, so you can sign up for open times. http://www.cs.uni.edu/~jacobson/maya/info.html http://www.cs.uni.edu/~jacobson/maya/train/ Quiz #3 will be on Wednesday. Quiz #2 scores: Score (out of 12) Count (number of students) ----------------- -------------------------- 12 8 10 4 9.5 1 8 2 7 1 6 4 4 4 0 2 Recall that the two lowest quiz scores (of 14 quizzes) are thrown out, thus you can miss or get low scores on two quizzes and that will have no effect on your highest 12 quiz scores. The quiz scores will be weighted using Excel so that each quiz counts the same as every other quiz. Thus if quiz #3 is 25 points and quiz #2 is 12 points, they would both be worth the same amount each when all the best 12 quiz scores are added up. Quiz #3 will be on Wednesday. Mark
