Date: Tue, 16 Dec 2008 16:59:19 -0600 (CST) From: Mark Jacobson To: 810-088-11-fall@uni.edu Subject: Final Exam 10 a.m. tommorrow (Wednesday morning)... Hi Maya students, The final exam study guide is now finalized, finally. You have been seeing it's incomplete version and can now see it's finalized version at URL: http://www.cs.uni.edu/~jacobson/maya/final/studyGuide.html http://www.cs.uni.edu/~jacobson/maya/info.html I have a 6 p.m. meeting that goes for a few hours, so I know this final exam will not be too long for the written portion, for the following five reasons: i. there is very little time before 10 a.m. tommorrow morning, and I am sleep deprived enough today I know I can't pull an all nighter or only sleep a couple hours, and ii. it is the first time I have ever taught Maya or given a Maya final, so there are no past semester final exams to take questions from, and iii. since we have had 10 quizzes and there will be many questions similar to or identical to some of those questions, most of you will be able to answer them fairly easily and fast, and iv. the solar system hands-on portion of the test using a cart laptop you have done quite a few times in class and hopefully done it quite a few times on your own (Sun, Earth, and Moon), and v. only 3 students have sent me their final project, the open-ended final Maya assignment, so most of you still have work to do on that. Be sure to read the study guide closely, You are allowed to have a hand-written cheat sheet to use for the SUN, EARTH, MOON and the H A N D S hands-on portion of the exam. http://www.cs.uni.edu/~jacobson/maya/final/studyGuide.html http://www.cs.uni.edu/~jacobson/maya/info.html I will put a link toward the very top of the web page so you can see the examples of the student's final assignments that have been submitted so far. http://www.cs.uni.edu/~jacobson/maya/info.html Drive carefully and stay warm.
