CP2.5 - Methods and your personal teaching style

Background

To a certain extent, this is just an extension of CP2.4. One of the reasons that there are a whole variety of teaching methods is that different teachers just have a different "style" of teaching based on their different philosophies of education. This activity asks you to reflect on your own preferences for teaching.

Activity

Reflect on your own, typical instructional approaches (or, if you prefer, a teaching method that you are aware of but is not on my previous lists).  Examine that style in relation to the CS Standards.  Where do you see it fitting well (where, why and how)?  Where do you see it may be deficient in addressing the standards?

In evaluating this reflection I'm primarily looking at evidence of personal reflection.  I want to see that you are considering your classroom style and connections to the standards.  I acknowledge that your personal style MAY be one of the ones addressed in activity #4.  But I think that the difference is that activity #4 asks you to focus on the THEORY of the method(s) and this activity asks you to focus on your own personal PRACTICE of the method(s).

When you are ready to submit your response please save it as a PDF and submit using the appropriate link on the class Blackboard page.
