- You can easily locate this article by following the short URL attached to the article.
- Many of the links go to a landing page at the ACM which contains the abstract. You will need to locate the PDF button to read the full article.
- Read this article of your choice
- While I don't expect you to go into a deep reading/analysis of this article I do want you to read it in enough details and to be able to write a brief summary and explain it to your peers.
- Please select one of the "References" from the article on PRIMM (located on page 24).
Writing
- As you read the different readings from BBCP this week I would like you to take notes regarding what stands out to you in each of the sections. Then, to help you start to make sense of the week's readings as a whole I would like you to complete a summary based on "the MANIC approach" :
- Discuss what you think was the MOST important idea you read about and why? [You can choose more than one. But this should be a limited list]
- Discuss something you AGREE with and why.
- Discuss something you do NOT agree with and why.
- Discuss something you found INTERESTING and why[maybe something you hadn't ever thought about before or something you think could completely change the way you teach].
- Discuss something you found CONFUSING. If you have a specific questions, ask it. If you are just generally confused, try to explain what is confusing.
- In the same document as question 1, write a 1-2 paragraph summary of your chosen research article as part of your reflection for the week.
Submission
I will be grading this on purely a 1/0 basis. You get credit for submitting something "on time" and that shows that you put time and effort/thought into crafting a meaningful response.
I do not see there being any right or wrong answers in this activity. Similarly, length of your answer does not necessarily correlate with the quality of your answers. Instead, I will be looking to see if you have considered a broad set of ideas/concepts for this reflection and will be looking at the clarity with which you have crafted your response(s). This includes things like spelling, grammar, formatting, etc.
Please submit this via Blackboard by the end of the week.
