Competency Activity

This Competency Demo is different from most of the ones you have/will take in this course. I am asking you to merge material from several week's of the course into this one competency demo. You will be using material from:

• Week 6 - Supportive Practices
• Week 8 - Improving Instruction and Learning, part 1
• Week 9 (this week) - Improving Instruction and Learning, part 2

Please create a single, word processed, document (either .doc or .pdf) that answers the following questions.

1. In week 6 you read about the idea of "imposter syndrome."
   • While you have done this once before, once again, explain this idea.
   • Select and discuss three of the instructional you read about in weeks 8 and 9 that you think would might help fight this issue.
     • Be clear on WHY you think these approaches would help reduce imposter syndrome.

 

2. In week 6 you read about the EngageCSEdu Engagement Practices. 
   • Select and discuss three of the instructional you read about in weeks 8 and 9 that you think connect well with these pracitces.
     • Be clear on WHY you think these approaches connect to these practices.

 

3. In week 6 you read about Culturally Responsive Computing (CRC).
   • Select and discuss three of the instructional you read about in weeks 8 and 9 that you think would connect well with this material.
     • Be clear on WHY you think these approaches connect to this material.

Submission

This counts as a competency demo in the course. In other words, each question will be assigned a score of 0-4 and an overall grade for the activity will be assigned.

While these questions are somewhat a matter of opinion - that is, they have multiple "right answers" - they can still be graded for competence based on how well you explain and defend your answer(s). Recognize that the degree to which you do so will have an impact on your grade.
