Fall 2009, In-Lab Exam #1

NOTE:  This exam is a closed book, closed class-notes, closed internet, closed “previous code” exam. The ONLY source you are allowed to reference during the exam is the documentation provided inside of IDLE itself. Any students found using unauthorized sources will receive an automatic 0 for this exam.

Initial Instructions - When told to do so, please conduct the following steps:

• Download the following compiled python code to your p drive
  • dataStructures.pyc
  • NOTE : This file contains a standard stack under the name Stack and a standard queue under the name Queue.  You do not need to worry about which implementation is provided.  You use them via the standard stack/queue API.
• Launch IDLE
• Open a new code writing window and save this code space as a file named exam1.py
• Close this website.

The only thing allowed open during the exam is your copy of IDLE and it's built in documentation if needed.  The presence of ANY other source open on your desktop will be your signal to me that you are done with the exam.  Returning to your code for alteration after that time will be considered cheating and will result in a score of 0.

Note:   Your P: drive data will be copied away and temporarily deleted shortly before the actual exam. It will be restored shortly after the exam.  If you detect problems with this process please contact Dr. Schafer immediately.
