I will not be in class today. However, I would like you to meet to work on some issues from Exam # 1 which you took in class on Friday, October 12th. While a few of you did quite well (see scores posted to the grades page) almost all of you could have done better.
Rather than ME telling you the right answers I want to have you teach each other what a good answer would look like. I think it makes more sense coming from you, and it gives you a chance to review the materials.
Here will be the format:
Monday, October 15th
During class time on, you should arrive to the classroom and get together in the following small groups:
| Group Number | Members | Primary Answer | Secondary Answer |
| 1 |
|
1 | 3 |
| 2 |
|
2 | 4 |
| 3 |
|
3 | 5 |
| 4 |
|
4 | 1 |
| 5 |
|
5 | 2 |
Once you get in your groups you may stay in the classroom to work but you may also feel free to leave the classroom and go to some other space to work. In fact, I encourage you to not all stay in the classroom. You want to find your own space for your own group (try the student lounge on third floor, the lounge spaces on the 1st floor, the upper level of the union, maybe you can use Dr. Gray's lab or the conference room on the third floor if you can get someone to let you in...)
In the 50 minutes of class time you need to work as a group to develop answers for the two questions you were assigned. Think through the process carefully and don't simply write down the first thing that comes to your mind (as you likely did on the exam). Think about what would make a good, even a GREAT, answer to the question(s). The answers aren't necessarily LONG answers, but they should be complete and cover the important facts.
Prior to calling it quits, you need to elect one person as "the scribe" who will type up your group's answers and email them to me and all the other members of your team (so exchange email addresses) by the end of the day on Tuesday.
Wednesday, October 17th
We will run class on Wednesday in a very structured manner.
Notice that is 10 minutes per question so we will stick to the schedule.
You will receive points as a team based on:
