ENVIRONMENT :
A flat, 5x5 grid surface. The main floor of the grid is white. Each cell of the grid is approximately 9.5 x 9.5 inches, and the grid will be laid out in black and red electrical tape of 3/4 inch width. The black lines should be treated as "walls" that MAY NOT be crossed under any circumstances. The red lines are placed only so that you may keep track of what grid you are in if you so choose. The Bot's "home" is cell (1,1) which is the upper, left hand corner of the grid and the Bot will always be placed facing South (towards cell (1,2)).
GOAL :
Find your way from home, to the goal cell (marked by a square of construction paper), and back to home. The goal cell may change from "test to test." Upon finding the goal cell, the Bot should make an audible signal to indicate it has found the goal. Upon returning home it should come to a complete stop and make a second audible signal (a little song?) to indicate that it is home.
DETAILS :
This is a search problem of sorts. You must search a 5x5 maze to find the "goal." Once you stumble across the goal, you need to work your way back to home. In theory you can do this through a second search. However, it is in your best interest to maintain state in your Bot so that it can find its way back home in as direct a fashion as possible (see tournament description).
