Well, I made it through a successful first week of blogging.  I am not
certain that I can maintain a post-a-day pace, but I think I can find a
comfortable groove.  Certainly my entries this week have been more like
essays than just blogging, and doing that daily is untenable -- especially
after school starts for the fall.  But I hope that you find the
articles useful.  I have found writing them to be useful to me!

a web app that creates images from midi files by finding patterns in the
song and representing them with arcs.  Not only is the app -- a Java applet
-- available on-line, but the artist has a large repertoire of songs
already available, extendible by his user community.  Enjoy!
