Before posting my last piece on Java trivia, I ran
Mac OS X's spell checker on my article, and it
flagged my very first line:

<BLOCKQUOTE><EM>
Via another episode of College Kids Say the
<STRONG>Darnedest</STRONG> Things,
</EM></BLOCKQUOTE>

It suggested that I used <EM>Damnedest</EM> instead.
This demonstrates several things:

<LI> My spell checker must not know me very well.
<LI> My spell checker doesn't know much about
     <A HREF="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Art_Linkletter">
        Art Linkletter</A>,
     or
     <A HREF="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0137313/">
        Bill Cosby</A>'s
     TV biography.
<LI> My spell checker doesn't know about Mark Twain's
     advice:
     <BLOCKQUOTE><EM>
     Substitute "damn" every time you're inclined to
     write "very"; your editor will delete it and the
     writing will be just as it should be.  
     </EM></BLOCKQUOTE>
</UL>

So that's your Mac OS X spell checker trivia for the day.
