What we have done so far is from the Lesson 1 or 1st chapter of the Trish and Chris Meyer book(Chapter 01 = Lesson 01). You have ALL the files on the DVD that comes with that textbook.

What the summer of 2009 810:088 Topics: VE, A, and MG class was like (when it included Autodesk Maya along with Flash and After Effects).
VIP: Note that there were no UNI labs with AE available and open that summer, so we did mostly FLash and Maya for assignments. We did lots of AE in the hands-on Lang 213 classroom. Several students did NOT have computers at home to even use the 30 day FREE trial of AE.

DO NOT USE THIS UNTIL LATER IN THE SEMESTER IF YOU ARE definitely NOT going to BUY AE CS5! I will inform you when the BEST TIME OF THE SEMESTER FOR using 30 day FREE TRIAL is! You can only use it ONCE per computer you own or have access to.

Note: If you have access to a 2nd computer (roommate, for example) or you own a 2nd computer - you can have 60 days for FREE for AE CS5! 30 day trial ONCE per computer.

FALL 2010 Textbook (NONE REQUIRED!)

THIS BOOK IS NOT REQUIRED! AE CS5 is nearly identical to AE CS4, so if you want to buy a book on your own, buy this one! Trish and Chris likely will not update it from CS4 until CS6 AE comes out in 2012.
After Effects Apprentice 2nd edition price comparisons. This book includes the DVD with all the lesson files. This book is NOT required, but if you do decide to purchase a book, this is the one I recommend highly! NO TEXTBOOK IS REQUIRED FOR FALL 2010 class.
